BOXBORO, MASS. (WHDH) - A man who has been on the run for nearly 20 years was arrested in Boxborough Saturday morning, according to Boxborough police.

Boxborough police said a sergeant stopped 57-year-old Jose Manuel Blanco-Dominguez of Lawrence on Massachusetts Avenue after his car’s registration plate check alerted the seargent to a potential NCIC warrant.

According to police, Blanco-Dominguez tried to provide police with one of his many aliases. Upon further investigation, police determined that Blanco-Gonzalez was the wanted man.

The charges against Blanco-Dominguez stemmed from an incident that occurred on June 25, 1997 in which two men, two women and two children were held at knife-point at a home in Connecticut by four masked men.

After a 30 minute stand-off with police, three of the suspects were captured, but Blanco-Dominguez escaped through a window.

Blanco-Dominguez was held without bail at the Boxborough Police Department pending his arraignment at Ayer District Court for extradition hearings.
