Salem Police say a man accused of shooting at police officers Thursday night has been captured.

Police arrested Jeremiah Wooden, 23, around 3:15 p.m. on Friday in Lynn.  

Police say at about 6:15 p.m. two Salem Police officers were attempting to apprehend Wooden on Fairfield Street.

During the process of taking Wooden into custody, police say he pulled out a gun and fired at the officers. The officers were not hit.

Wooden then ran from the scene. Police say the gun was recovered.

A woman who lives nearby said she heard shots and went outside to find jewelry in her driveway and clothing in her backyard.

Wooden is being charged with armed assault and battery with intent to murder, assault and battery on a police officer, attempted assault and battery with a firearm, possession of a firearm during a felony, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, operating after license suspended, and assault with a dangerous weapon. 

Wooden will face a judge on Tuesday.
