Two Boston University students sued the school and a professor, claiming he sexually harassed them and made them uncomfortable.
The two women were enrolled at BU’s College of Fine Arts and said they were harassed by Professor Eric Ruske, a famous horn player who is highly respected at the school. Ruske allegedly asked one of the plaintiffs, junior Erin Shyr, to share "cute pics" with him. He also allegedly told Shyr, "I hope Santa brings you heels" and asked her to send him pictures. Maria Currie, the other plaintiff, said Ruske compared her music to having sex with her during a personal meeting.
"It’s tough to walk into the school of music and you don’t know where he is," Shyr said at a news conference on Tuesday.
The women said they filed a Title IX complaint and told administrators. The women said they believe nothing was done in response, and that was why they filed the lawsuit against the University and Ruske, to make sure their complaints are taken seriously.
Boston University refused to comment on the allegations and Ruske did not respond to 7News’ request for comment.
Attorneys say the professor is currently working in Wyoming.
