The Brookline Police Department is investigating an alleged sexual assault against a local college student. 

According to police, the assault happened around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday but was not reported to police until Thursday night. 

The victim told police she was approached by a man at the front door on her home on St. Paul Street after she walked home from a local business on Commonwealth Ave.  

Police said the man initiated a conversation, but the victim told him to leave her alone. 

While the victim was trying to get into her home, she said she was grabbed and assaulted by the man. 

The victim was able to break free and ran into her apartment. 

Police said the victim suffered minor injuries. 

The man is described as a light-skinned man in his mid 20’s to 30’s with dark hair and facial hair. He is between 5’9" and 5’10". 

The victim had never seen the man before and was unaware what direction he ran in.
