Arlington Police have arrested a man and a woman in connection with a planned robbery at a restaurant in town.
Eric Michael Brodeur, 25 of Somerville, and Lyca Mai Blume, 26 of Arlington, were arrested on Wednesday, March 30.
Around 7:40 p.m. on Wednesday, police were dispatched to a robbery in progress at Kickstand Cafe on Massachusetts Avenue.
When officers arrived, they met with the manager, identified as Blume, who said a man had entered the restaurant through the back door, come up behind her, pepper sprayed her in the face and took money from the cash register.
According to police, the suspect then drove off in an older model black Lincoln with tinted windows and a silver trim.
He was described as a white man, approximately six feet tall, with a slender build and wearing a neon orange mask and green jacket.
A man, identified as Brodeur, later arrived at the scene to pick up Blume, police said.
Police found his car at the Cambridge Savings Bank parking lot. The car matched the description of the suspect’s car.
Inside, police found a neon orange mask, green jacket, a black replica handgun, a liquid spray can and a large amount of cash.
Brodeur was then arrested.
Police said an investigation showed the two suspects worked together to stage a robbery of the cafe in order to get cash from the register.
Brodeur was charged with armed and masked robbery, breaking and entering and conspiracy.
Blume was charged with armed and masked robbery, breaking and entering, conspiracy, and intimidating a witness.
Police are investigating whether a third person is involved.
