An after-school teacher from Revere is facing child pornography charges.

Ian Silver-Eck, 20, was arraigned in court on Friday on one count each of possession of obscene material and possession of child pornography, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.

The suspect was held on $1,000 cash bail and several conditions, according to the DA’s office.

Silver-Eck is also known as Ian Henning.

Silver-Eck works as a part-time teacher at "Build It Yourself," company that provides after-school programs across Massachusetts, according to the DA’s office.

In a statement, the company said:

I regret that one of our workshop leaders, Ian Silver Eck, was arraigned this morning for possession of child pornography.

Mr. Silver-Eck has been a contractor for Build-It-Yourself for over 1 year. He has been professional, polite, and helpful in classes.

Mr. Silver-Eck’s contract with Build-It-Yourself was terminated this evening effective immediately based on a statement the Suffolk County District Attorney released today.

Build-It-Yourself offers an art and engineering after-school program driven by technology-in-education research at MIT.  We have served over 4000 kids around the world.  Our mission is to inspire and guide the next generation of builders to use technology creatively and collaboratively in a unique global laboratory.

On Dec. 2, State Police got a report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that somebody had shared child porn on Skype, according to the DA’s office.

Investigators got a warrant for the Skype subscriber information linked to the computer that had the obscene images. That search led to Silver-Eck’s house on Ocean Avenue in Revere, according to the DA’s office.

Silver-Eck, during an interview with State Police, admitted he had the images on his computer, according to the DA’s office. Police, after getting a warrant, found 23 inappropriate images on Silver-Eck’s computer.

Police arrested Silver-Eck. Investigators are searching his computer.

Silver-Eck is scheduled to return to court on May 20.
