Police are looking for the suspect who they said threw a Molotov cocktail through a home’s window in South Boston.

The resident, who lives on Marine Road, said she found the bottle after noticing her window had been broken. The bottle had been lit but never exploded.

The building is behind the home of former Boston Mayor Ray Flynn, who stopped by with a gift for the people who live there.

"As soon as we heard about it, we came over. We were in Dorchester, so we came over to see if there’s anything we can do," said Flynn. The former mayor said something like this is not characteristic of the neighborhood.

The woman on the receiving end of the Molotov cocktail said she does not know if she was targeted or was just caught on the wrong end of someone who had been celebrating St. Patrick’s Day too hard.
