If the level of warmth created by a tender heart could be measured, then it would always be summertime at Burncoat High School in Worcester.

Partly because of kind-hearted students like Marta Brodeur.

At the start of winter, Marta set up a giving tree, with donated hats, gloves and scarves, freely available to all students who need to keep warm.

Marta’s generosity extends to the coast classroom, where she volunteers to help students with special needs. This is something she’s understood at home since her brother is on the autism spectrum.

And one student she helped paid her a tribute by sketching Marta’s likeness.

“I’m just so happy to be at Burncoat and to have so many supporting people here. I just wish that everybody could get a Class Act too. Because everybody does their won helping in their own way,” said Marta.

Marta hopes her giving tree will continue, even after she graduates.
