A 4-year-old Harwich boy is being hailed as hero for calling 911 when his mother had a seizure.
Ashley Fontaine was getting ready for work on Tuesday when she suddenly had a seizure.
"I felt really dizzy and I got a headache and the next thing I knew, there was a bunch of people standing over me," said Ashley Fontaine. "It’s actually an ongoing condition I’ve been dealing with for … going on seven years now
Seeing his mother in trouble, Matthew Fontaine jumped into action and called 911. Tuesday was the first day Ashley Fontaine had her son alone.
Fontaine’s father, Tim, said he had previously taught his son how to call 911 and what to tell dispatchers.
After the incident, a Harwich Police officer gave Matthew a high five for thinking quick and helping his mother.
Matthew’s mother said, "I am very proud of him. He is my little hero."
Doctors are trying to figure out what causes Ashley Fontaine’s seizures.
