Organizers of running events in Chattanooga, Tennessee are under the microscope from runners there after participants found out that a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon was not quite a marathon.

Race organizers misplaced a barrier, which ended up shortening the race by a little more than a quarter of a mile.

The mistake happened at a part of the race where runners had to make a turn.

For those who had run the course before they knew right away that something was off and that it could have consequences.

There is good news for those who love running, they will likely have to run again in order to qualify for the full Boston Marathon.

Race organizers are still checking to see if qualified times will be accepted.
