Police said the driver accused in a hit-and-run crash in Billerica that injured two 15-year-old girls has turned herself into police.

Police said two teen girls, both Billerica High School students, were crossing Boston Road in a crosswalk when a car hit them on Wednesday.

The two girls suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Lowell general Hospital.

The car kept driving, police said.

The driver, a 35-year-old Billerica woman, has been cited for two counts of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident with personal injury and failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, police said.

The accident happened at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Police have also taken possession of the driver’s car.
