Relatives of Justina Pelletier will announce that they have filed a lawsuit against Children’s Hospital for civil rights violations and medical malpractice.
Justina was placed in DCF care in 2013.
Tufts Medical Center sad she had mitochondrial disease, but doctors at Children’s believed her problems were psychological.
Her parents tried to take her back to Tufts, but DCF took custody of her.
She was reunited with her family about 18 months later.
