Tewksbury police arrested three men Wednesday for alleged drug trafficking.

According to police, the arrests stemmed from information obtained during an investigation of a recent apparent overdose death. Detectives were able to identify a phone number associated with the drug deal that is believed to be connected to the incident.

Police charged 34-year-old Junior Rodriguez of Brooklyn, 31-year-old Julio Nieves-Padilla of Boston, and 23-year-old Rhoderick Adino of Lawrence with trafficking heroin over 18 grams, distribution of heroin, distribution of cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, and conspiracy.

Undercover police detectives made arrangements for the suspects to deliver $880 worth of heroin and cocaine to the Lodge at Ames Hill apartment complex. When the suspects arrived, the sold 23 grams of heroin and 3 grams of cocaine to an officer.

An additional 2.3 grams of cocaine was recovered after the suspects were arrested.
