Boston could see several more inches of snow on top of what did not melt on a mild Sunday.

For the second day in a row, schools will be closed. The mayor’s office also said that no snow emergency has been declared and a parking ban will not be in effect. Space savers will also not be allowed.

All state offices east of Worcester county are closed, and non-emergency employees are being told to stay home and off the roads if possible.

To prepare, the city has 500 trucks out to pre-treat roads. Forty tons of salt will also be on hand for any icy roads.

Officials have been treating roadways since late Sunday night. Front loaders are filling up giant salt trucks with sand-salt mixtures to put out on the roadways when the snow starts to fall.

"We live in New England, we have to deal with it," said Boston resident Jack Sullivan. "If you’re up north to ski, it’s nice. In the city, not so much. But we can deal with it."

Forecasts are calling for up to 10 inches of additional snow to fall in Boston.
