A Canton man has died after being hit by a falling tree branch Friday night, marking the second tree branch-related death in Canton this weekend.

According to the Canton Police Department, fire officials responded to a call about smoke in a home on Longmeadow Drive shortly after 11:00 p.m Friday night. While crews were there, residents of the home alerted them to another neighbor who had been hit by a falling tree limb in his backyard. Police said the married father of three had been working outside when he was hit by the falling branch.

The 48-year-old victim was taken to Boston Medical Center. Police and BMC confirmed late Saturday afternoon that the victim died. Another Canton resident, 6-year-old Kayleigh Kenyon, was killed after being hit by a falling tree on Friday.
