A dog was found after getting loose in Boston and making his way onto I-93 at one point.

Scott Cohen left his dog, Posy, at a daycare while he was away in Florida. Monday afternoon, he got a phone call from the daycare.

The daycare said that Posy ran out of their car when they were transporting other dogs in the North End. “As soon as the door [to the car] opened, she bolted out,” Cohen said.

Cohen posted a note about the incident on Facebook and later heard Posy was spotted in the Haymarket T Station and then on Interstate 93. Police and volunteers also searched for the dog.

“She apparently was just galloping all over the freeway,” Cohen said.

Posy later showed up at Massachusetts General Hospital at around 5 p.m., cold and scared. The dog was reunited with the daycare owner three hours after escaping.

Cohen returned home Tuesday and now has Posy again. He said he is very thankful for everyone that helped search for her.

“It sort of restored my faith in humanity,” Cohen said.
