A tough takedown was caught on camera after an auto-body mechanic helped bring down a wanted man in Ohio.
Police said the man was on a mission to escape the officers.
Body camera video captured how it all ended.
The mechanic, 56-year-old Jeff Mullen, tossed his wrench to wrestle the man on the run to the ground.
Minutes earlier, a police lieutenant tried to arrest the drug suspect on a felony warrant
The lieutenant said the man went inside his home, jumped out a window, and bolted.
The police chase continued to A&J exhaust, where Jeff Mullen realized what was happening and quickly chased down the suspect.
"Then he turned around and run, and I just started hooked him here, hooked him here and threw him on the ground," Mullen said.
Mullen held him down for a few minutes until police caught up and arrested the suspect.
"He says, ‘I can’t breathe.’ And I said, ‘It sucks to be you,’” Mullen said.
As a former bouncer, Mullen said he acted on instinct.
"More people need to step in," he said.
The officer who got a helping hand returned to the auto shop to say thank you.
