A taxi driver was arrested after a dangerous drive in Weymouth.

Police said he was drunk behind the wheel, with kids in the back seat.

According to police, the driver was taking three kids to school early Friday morning.

In the arrest report, the school kids, who were all headed to Brockton, told police they were afraid and asked the driver to slow down.

He did, and allegedly tried to pass another car by crossing the double yellow line on Main Street in Weymouth.

No one was hurt, but according to the police report, the minors were visibly shaken.

Police said they knew something was wrong right when they got on scene, because he appeared drowsy and seemed to be falling asleep standing up.

Weymouth police said the 52-year old driver from Quincy admitted to taking a Valium-type prescription drug about an hour before picking up the kids. He couldn’t recall how many he took.

One child in the car told police they saw him taking swigs of whiskey as he drove. Officers later found a half empty bottle in the trunk.
