Police said a Randolph man was stabbed Thursday evening in Braintree in an apparent case of road rage.

The incident happened at around 5 p.m. along the road outside the Barnes and Noble on Granite Street. Police said the victim was stabbed several times after two drivers got out of their vehicles and started fighting.

"People started coming up and putting blankets over him and he seemed to be bloody in the stomach area," said witness Dan Sheehan. "People pulled up and started saying he was stabbed."

The victim was taken to the hospital. Police said they are interviewing the victim and witnesses.

Police are still searching for the other driver.
