If the season ended today, 7News fantasy football league reigning champion Pete Bouchard wouldn’t make the playoffs.

Fortunately for Pete, and the others on the outside looking in, there’s one more week to make a push.

For some, the hard work has already been done. Five teams have clinched playoff spots. For them, Week 13 will be strictly for seeding purposes. Tim Caputo, Joe Amorosino, Dan Hausle, Jeremy Reiner, and Kris Anderson have locked up the top five seeds. Nobody’s clinched the top seeds, and those battles will be tight.

That leaves one playoff spot, tenuously held by Trey Daerr at the moment. Daerr holds the tiebreaker over Bouchard and Nicole Oliverio, both at 5-7 records.

The bad news for the 4-8 teams? Two 5-7 teams – Daerr and Oliverio – play each other. Even with a tie, those teams would be ahead of Alex Corddry and Brandon Gunnoe, meaning their seasons are over.

That means the spotlight is on the matchup between Bouchard and Daerr. While Oliverio could also get to 6-7, she stands far behind the other teams in the first tiebreaker – total points scored – and would need to score more than 100 points more than her competitors to overtake them.

For all intents and purposes, the winner of Bouchard and Daerr will decide the final playoff spot.
