I’m a fan of Huey Lewis and the News, but also of Phil Collins – just for the record.  So, the title of this blog is meant to be sung aloud to the tune of "In the Air Tonight" by my other main man, Philly-Phil!  Really, you can feel fall in the air all around today, with highs stuck in the 60s.  A chilly breeze added some "crisp-ness" to the air, and boom!  You find yourself digging through the back of the closet, looking for that jacket/sweater/college-alma-mater-football-hoodie you put away in the spring.  That extra layer was necessary today – all day long.  So yes, I can feel it "fall-ing" in the air tonight… Oh, Lord…. Oh, Lord… *CUE DRUM SOLO!*

Temps tonight will be downright chilly.  If the extra blanket hasn’t gone on the bed already, it probably will tonight.  Clear skies, low humidity, light winds; all of the ingredients for ample "radiational cooling" (when the heat from the surface can easily escape back into the atmosphere).  Lows will be in the upper 30s to low 40s in some of the cooler spots of the ‘burbs, to closer to 50° in Boston.

It’s a big day at Fenway tomorrow as we put away our Red Sox for this season… or rather, break out the literal/actual red socks from the drawer to keep our feet warm this winter.  It’s the last Red Sox home game of the year, and it will be a great day for it.  OH!  And of course there’s some FOOTBALL happening at Gillette, too!  (Go PATS!)  Mostly sunny skies, highs right around 70°, lighter winds… It’s an awesome day to be outside tomorrow.  Whether you’re tailgating, watching baseball, enjoying some music at Boston Calling… Just enjoy.

Few clouds tomorrow night should make for good viewing of the supermoon/lunar eclipse!  These two events haven’t coincided since 1982, and it won’t happen again until 2033.  It’s a supermoon because the moon is at its closest orbit (perigee) to Earth, making the moon appear 14% bigger and 30% brighter!  It’s also the lunar eclipse, when the Earth’s shadow appears on the moon, making it appear red in color.  That’s why it’s called a "Blood Moon."  Our high, thin clouds tomorrow might add an eerie haze to viewing… but we should still be able to see it.  So, I expect to see some awesome pics on Twitter!  I’ll be tracking it here during 7News at 10pm and 11pm as well.  The partial eclipse starts at 9:07pm, total eclipse from 10:11pm to 11:23pm, then back to a partial eclipse until 12:27am.

Now, I’ll get my head out of Space and back to the forecast… We’ll get some milder temps on Monday and Tuesday, but it will be a little muggy as well.  Clouds move in for both of those days, and scattered showers are a good likelihood, especially Tuesday.  It’s not a washout, and it’s not a soaker.  So, if you’re lawn is thirsty, as most lawns are, you’ll need to keep watering.

Is it weird to anyone else that October is less than a week away?  Yikes!  Enjoy this last weekend of September, and GO PATS!  – Breezy
