Admit it, you spend more and more time with your face buried in a mobile device.

But have you ever stopped to consider what all that screen time is doing to your vision?

The digital age is a sight for sore eyes, all those hours staring at computers, tablets, smartphones.

Turns out, more than 90 percent of Americans are at risk for what the vision council calls “digital eye strain.”

How’s that for an eye opener?

Doctors said it has reached epidemic proportions.

Perhaps, not surprisingly, those hardest hit are millennials, with nearly seven in 10 reporting symptoms from watery and irritated eyes to neck and back pain.

On average, a person blinks about 18 times a minute, but stare at a screen for too long and your blinking slows down that means dry, itchy or burning eyes.

“Since the technology has evolved, we’re seeing a lot more of that with all the new devices,” Dr. Holly Gross said.

Some of the best advice to reduce eye strain, limit your screen time whenever possible.

The vision council recommends the 20/20/20 rule: every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break and look at least 20 feet away.

Another idea: adjust the brightness on your screen.
