Class Act:

7th grade class – St. Patrick Catholic School, Pelham

Nominated by:

Brian Clark

Nomination Story:

The 7th grade class at St. Patrick Catholic School in Pelham held a community service project, collecting over 500 (516) items as part of care packages for military service men and women. Students asked for school-wide support in donating personalized greeting cards as well as toothbrushes, toothpaste, and chapstick to create dental kits for the care packages.

The students completed the project in support of MooreMart, a well-known organization in Nashua. MooreMart recently celebrated its 10 year anniversary- a true local success story in helping deployed military, sending 65,000 care packages to date to supply soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan with items they need.

Teachers and staff at St. Patrick Catholic School also rallied to support the 7th graders, having their students create cards, and bringing in donations of their own. School Secretary, Carol Blazon enlisted the help of her dentist, Harvey Weener of Landmark Dental Care in Nashua who donated over 100 tubes of toothpaste.

MooreMart co-founders, The Honorable Paul S. Moore and his sister, Carole Moore Biggio were thrilled to hear about the efforts of the 7th grade class at St. Patrick Catholic School, as well as those of the entire school community.
