I would like to nominate Murdock Middle School in Winchendon, Ma.
When the Student Council Executive Board heard that the local Veteran’s Cemetery was going to be short on funds and not every grave would receive a wreath this Christmas these kids jumped into action.
They proposed a spare change type of fundraiser to the Principal, who overwhelming approved. Buckets were put out in each homeroom on Thursday, November 20th and Friday, November 21 for students and staff to put their spare change in. Over the course of two days these students raised over $1,600 which ensured that every grave would receive a wreath.
This was completely student generated and run.
