We are looking at 3 storms in the next 7 days. Two of the three could be big but they are the furthest in time—making them difficult to offer specific details this morning. The first of the three is on the way for tonight & tomorrow morning. We’ll start there.
That storm will throw clouds at us today but no travel issues at any time despite clouds taking over the sky. I think some flurries are possible along the coast early this evening but most of us are flake-free until midnight. At that time there will be some patchy light snow/flurries and that continues overnight and through early Thursday morning. This storm (#1) will pass well south of New England late tonight so most of us only see flurries/patches of light snow producing a coating to an inch but on the Cape/Islands 1-3″ is possible (highest amounts on Nantucket) by tomorrow morning. Storm #1 pulls away tomorrow allowing sunshine to return and then hang with us on Friday.
Saturday looks to be the day Storm #2 could affect us. This storm will be a fast mover but also starting in the Gulf of Mexico. That means a brief but intense thump of snow is possible Saturday afternoon-evening. The exact track isn’t known so rain/snow lines are the amount of snow isn’t known either but a plowable snow does appear possible for metro Boston late day Saturday. Storm #3 would be in about a week from now.
