A man has been arrested and charged for a crash on New Year’s Day that killed an 18-year-old in Rockland.

Police said 23-year-old Timothy A. Dominico of Hanson was under the influence of alcohol when his vehicle crashed into another vehicle, killing the driver.

Witnesses told police that the two vehicles were driving fast down the road, with Dominico’s car on the wrong side of the road, when the vehicles made contact and crashed.

A third vehicle came from behind and hit the other car.

When police arrived on the scene the driver, 18-year-old Patrick J. Sullivan, was already dead.

Dominico has been charged with motor vehicle homicide while under the influence of alcohol while driving negligently
