Window washing rig falls, injures worker in Boston

BOSTON (WHDH) -

A man was transported to the hospital on Saturday after a window-washing rig suddenly dropped.

Officials said the worker was on the ground at the John Hancock Tower when a window-washing apparatus that was hanging about 20 feet high suddenly dropped.

Boston Fire authorities said the apparatus fell at least 10 feet onto the worker.

The victim was taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident.
