California teacher's tweets raising concerns

Posted: Updated:
UNDATED (NBC) - A California high school teacher was given a written warning after tweeting about her students.

"On June 23, the teacher tweeted “I already wanna (sic) stab some kids – is that bad?”

In April, she said, “So happy to be done with school for 10 days but especially be away from the ones who truly try my patience and make my trigger finger itchy.”

The students say they find the teacher's tweets funny and don't take them too seriously. Two other teachers said the tweets were offensive, inappropriate and threatening.

Although the tweets were sent a couple of months ago, the district just learned about them and wrote her up. While she isn't tweeting anymore, she is still teaching.

The teacher has since apologized and said she never expected anyone would take her seriously.
