After a couple of days of being stuck in the 40s thanks to an onshore wind,  we change up the direction of the breeze, and that makes all the difference this time of year.  As a west to northwest breeze takes over today, we’ll warm to a couple degrees either side of 60.  That wind is active, gusting at times 20-30mph.

With clear skies and lighter winds tonight, temps tumble back into the mid to upper 20s in the burbs and in the upper 30s in the city.

As high pressure builds over us and just east of us for Easter Sunday, plenty of sunshine prevails.  However, it’ll be a cooler day with mid to upper 50s inland and upper 40s at the coast.  It’s coolest at the coast thanks to an onshore breeze that’ll take over.  At least this time, we can keep the sunshine at the coast, so that’ll still allow for a pretty nice day overall.

Marathon Monday features more nice weather as we start off in the 30s around sunrise, warm to near 50 by 10:00AM and in the lower to middle 60s by mid afternoon.  There’s still some question of how far inland a sea breeze makes in Monday afternoon.  At this point, I don’t think it makes it very far.  The wind will predominately be out of the south to southwest around 10-15mph which has a right to left component and a tail wind component to it (basically from your back right, to your front left if you’re running along the route).  IF a sea breeze makes it to Boston, maybe we’ll cool into the 50s at the finish line, but I doubt it makes it to Brookline or anywhere west of there.  That’s a big IF… in fact, most likely we’ll be in the 60s in the early afternoon at the finish line with that sea breeze hung up in East Boston, up through Nahant, Cape Ann and of course cooler over Cape Cod.

Enjoy the weekend and Happy Easter!
