Man accused of peering into Allston apartment windows

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) - An accused “peeping Tom” appeared in Brighton District Court Tuesday after he was caught in the bushes near an Allston apartment building.

Prosecutors say Genesio Cassimiro, 51, of Allston, has been seen in the area several times.

“The defendant has been spotted by multiple parties over the past couple of weeks on a number of occasions outside this address,” prosecuting attorney Michael Glennon said.

But Cassimiro's defense argues he has a medical condition and needed to relieve himself.

“He denies it. He said he's diabetic, he had to urinate in the bushes. That's what he has been repeating, that's what he told police, that's what he told the court today and that's what he told me and I've heard nothing else,” defense attorney Frances Tucker said.

Police said they are investigating whether this incident might be connected to a similar situation in Brighton last week when a man was caught on camera looking through a window.

Cassimiro has been ordered to stay away from the apartment building, wear a GPS monitoring device and follow a curfew. He is expected to be back in court in September.
