Man charged for impersonating police with Decepticon car

Posted: Updated:

A car that's more than meets the eye led to charges being filed against a Braintree man.

The Maserati is painted to look similar to Barricade, a Decepticon from the “Transformers” series.

Police, however, say it's an impersonation of the cruisers they drive for work every day.

Fans of the movies think it's a great tribute.

“I see a car sitting across the street I had to do a bit of a double take. Then, when I read the description on the car I had a chuckle because it's kind of fitting with the movie coming out,” Eric Clark said.

Police pulled over the luxury car in Braintree Saturday.

“I think it's a police car. If I was driving, it would cause me to slow down,” one man said.

When questioned about the car the owner reportedly told police he was actually helping them because many drivers slow down and pull over when they see the car.
