LOWELL, Mass. (WHDH) -
Two brothers who were shot and killed in Lowell were the sons of a retired Lowell police sergeant.
Police were investigating the double fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning.
Lowell Police responded to a call at 105 Andrews St. where they discovered two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Keith Callahan, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene. Joseph Callahan, 29, was transported to Lowell General Hospital where he later died.
The two victims were on the second floor and kept mostly to themselves, according to neighbors, who said they heard the gunshots ring out at around 2:30 a.m. Witnesses also said they heard a party.
Carrie Lincoln lives next door and said she was too afraid to sleep after hearing the shots.
"It's disturbing, and very paranoid for me, for my children," Lincoln said. "I have five young children and two older ones that live behind me, so it's very nerve-wracking. "
A memorial is growing outside the home as police continue to investigate on the scene.
No arrests have been made, but officials have released a sketch and description of a person of interest. He is described as being a light skinned Asian male, approximately 25-35 years old and 5 feet 6 inches tall with a thin build. He has a mustache and a long goatee and dark hair. He was last seen wearing a white T shirt and jeans.
