It was the South Shore’s turn this afternoon. Downpours flared from Boston south to the Cape, but the culminating event was a storm that blossomed near Lakeville and tracked southeast to the Cape. At one point it was severe as it crossed through Middleboro and Rochester, but there were no reports of widespread damage. Here it was just after 4pm:

Some flooding in Sandwich as this storm passed, but in many cases, it was your typical summer storm.
The storm threat morphs a little tomorrow. We’re watching a strong upper level system rotate out of Ontario tonight.
It has a good batch of energy to work with and will pepper the Commonwealth with gusty, fast-moving storms tomorrow. With freezing levels dropping, these storms may also drop some good batches of hail too. Keep an eye to the sky any time after late morning through the afternoon. Storms won’t last long, but they could pack a punch.
