Dorchester man charged with raping 10-year-old girl

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) - A sex offender from Boston with a lengthy criminal record appeared in court on new charges accusing him of raping a 10-year-old girl while taking her to a summer youth program.

Erroll Foreman, 49, of Dorchester was arraigned Tuesday in Dorchester District Court on charges including child rape and indecent assault and battery on a child under 14. A judge revoked his bail.

A report by Boston police said Foreman picked up the girl, his girlfriend's niece, at her home Thursday morning to drive her to the youth program and raped her on the way. The girl told authorities that Foreman assaulted her and threatened to kill her and her family if she told anyone.

“During that interview, just hours after being attacked by the victim, she gave a detailed account of being raped,” the prosecuting attorney said. “She also said that during the assault she cried and the defendant told her to shut up and hit her."

Foreman's lawyer says these accusations are not true and her client's past should not be reflect on the current case.

“They are merely allegations and my client vehemently denies the allegations and we’re confident that when he has his day in court he will be found not guilty,” defense attorney Courtney Linehan said.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
