Felt a little more like the season today. Highs jumped back into normal territory with the hazy sun – and even a few downpours crossed north of the Pike.
Coming days will see more seasonable heat with a diminished threat for storms – at least tomorrow. With Bertha passing FAR offshore, most of the focus for thunder and downpours will remain far to the northwest of 495 and far to the southeast of Nantucket. The no man’s land in between will fall under Bertha’s protection zone. There may even be some lowering of the humidity for a short time tomorrow across SE Mass. Note the decrease (in purple) in what we call the precipitable water (water available for storms/rain) through Buzzards Bay tomorrow:
The sinking air around Bertha causes this drying and should steer away the storms.
Latest word on the second half of the week is…stellar. After a widespread storm threat Wednesday, we’ll quiet down and bring in the lower humidity. That will keep us sitting pretty right into the weekend.
