STURBRIDGE, Mass. (WHDH) - The 35th annual Pan Mass Challenge kicked off on Saturday with more than 5,700 cyclists riding up to 190 miles over the weekend.

The race started in Sturbridge at around 5:15 a.m., where riders will bike 110 miles on the first day. The first route ends in Dourne at the Mass. Maritime Academy.

On Sunday, riders will travel to one of two finish lines in Provincetown and Wellesley.

All of the money raised funds cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. If the riders reach their goal this year, they will have raised $454 million for the Jimmy Fund.

A spokesperson from the Pan Mass Challenge said there were 30 to 50 cases of hypothermia reported because of the weather. They were treated on the scene.
