Teens injured after car hits Medford utility pole

MEDFORD, Mass. (WHDH) - Five teens sustained serious injuries after the car they were in hit a utility pole in Medford early Saturday morning.

The vehicle hit the pole on Riverside Avenue at around 1 a.m. and the pole fell on the car, trapping four teens inside. One teen was ejected from the vehicle. The jaws of life were required to remove them. According to fire officials, it took about 90 minutes to free and transport the teens.

All were transported to Mass. General Hospital and their current conditions were unknown.
