Man says pack of coyotes attacked his dog in California

Posted: Updated:
BURBANK, Calif. (WHDH) - A pack of wild coyotes was caught on camera running through the streets of Southern California.

One man says he was out walking his dog when the coyotes started threatening his pet.

"This is a new problem. Usually what happens is you make yourself large, you throw something or you yell and scream. We aren't they’re natural prey and for them to go after a dog that is much larger than them is new,” Nick Mendoza said.

Security cameras mounted on Mendoza’s house show what appears to be more than a dozen coyotes outside his door.

"They were hunting in a pack, that's scary that's when my heart started pounding,” he said.

Mendoza is waiting to hear back from a local animal shelter to see if they can help.
