Police investigated suspicious device in Haverhill

HAVERHILL, Mass. (WHDH) - MBTA Transit Police have cleared the scene in Haverhill where a suspicious device was spotted Friday morning.

Witnesses reported what looked like a pressure cooker near a trash can at the Bradford commuter rail station.

Sources tell 7News that a car was idling in the parking lot of the station. Later, it was discovered that the car was coincidental and not related to the device.

The Explosive Detection Unit examined the object with a robotic device. It was discovered that the package was a sterilizer for a tattoo parlor and that it was empty.

SKY7 HD was over the scene.
