No tornadoes in New England today. Incredible day in New England on Monday–in Revere in particular–with the EF-2 tornado (Chris’s blog from last night details the event). Most remarkable was the lack of fatalities and limited injuries. Say your prayers or buy a lottery ticket.

The storm system that spawned all the severe weather in New England yesterday moved offshore overnight and now we focus on Canadian High Pressure for a few days. This bubble of high pressure (like so many others this summer) has brought some very comfortable air with it. Plan on daytime temps in the 70s to around 80 for the rest of the week and overnight lows into the 50s–great for sleeping.

There are signs as we step toward the weekend that a cold front out over the ocean will try to back into New England with clouds, showers and an increase in humidity. It’s early Tuesday so there is still wiggle room to figure that weekend forecast out.

Enjoy that sunshine.
