BROCKTON, Mass. (WHDH) -
More Market Basket employees proved on Saturday that they will not stop fighting for their ousted CEO Arthur T. Demoulas.
Workers gathered outside the Brockton store rallying in support.
Things have reached a tipping point in an intense family feud over who should run the grocery store chain. The food fight, between cousins, has led to empty shelves, empty parking lots and growing frustration.
"It is stressful to see my employees outside instead of inside because we're here to serve the customer. With this going on, it's tough. it's sad actually," said one manager.
Inside, managers are trying to find something to do, but with shelves empty, it's tough.
"We're all cleaning the cases. and it's running out of stuff to clean, so after today, I don't know what else we're going to do," said manager Nelio Vaz.
Customers are also feeling the strain.
"It is frustrating because this is where my family and us we come do foodshopping here and we have to come to plenty of other places to grab things," said customer Tatiana Moniz.
In the mean time, employees say they're going to stay outside hoping the Board of Directors changes their minds and reinstates Demoulas.
Employees released a statement, saying:
Market Basket associates and customers remain fully committed to our cause. Arthur T. Demoulas must be reinstated with full authority as President of Demoulas Super Markets. This has been and will continue to be non-negotiable.
