Prankster leaves pink flamingos around Missouri neighborhood

Posted: Updated:
RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Mo. (WHDH) - It’s a pink mystery on a quiet street in Missouri; someone is creeping around at night, planting plastic pink flamingos in people's yards.

Dozens of flamingoes have appeared in the community of Richmond Heights, and there's no sign of them going away

"It's flamingo bombing. You’ll just wake up one morning and they'll be in your yard,” Ken Gurney said.

It's a prank that has filled a neighborhood with 41 flamingos.

Cassie Kirth moved to the neighborhood with pink flamingoes in her yard and that’s when they started popping up all over the neighborhood.

“They started spreading and spreading and I then said to my husband, I said, ‘do you think that they're making fun of me,’” she said.

The flamingos just pop up; one is rocking a party hat, another wearing a scarf, some are even blue.

"I thought it was weird that people just started getting flamingos,” 8-year-old Eleanor Baum said.

So far no one has come forward as being the prankster, and neighbors are waiting to see if that person eventually slips up.
