For the most part, the weekend weather has been great over the last few months with very few weekend days featuring any rain at all. Now the question is, can we keep the winning weather streak going?
As high pressure builds in today, it’ll be a beauty with mostly sunny skies, low humidity and light sea breezes kicking it. Temps reach the mid 70s at the shoreline to the lower 80s inland. With clear skies and low humidity tonight, it’ll be a cool and comfy night with lows in the 50s in the burbs and lower 60s in the city.
High pressure holds on Saturday, meaning more dry weather although more clouds mix in with that sunshine in the afternoon. We’re not concerned with any rain for Saturday, however, by Sunday, a few showers could get close.
The same front that brought us the occasional storms and downpours earlier in the week is stuck just off to our east. As a wave of low pressure develops along that front and rides north, the front backs up to the west a bit and clouds increase for Sunday. It’s likely that the core of the showers stays south and east of us, however, a few of those showers may sneak onto the Cape/Islands Sunday. Overall rain chance is running around 30%, so I’m thinking more a cloud maker than rain maker. If you have a tee time across the Cape, or cookout, I wouldn’t rearrange plans based on the forecast now as the rain will likely be limited. If you have weekend beach plans, Saturday will be the brighter of the two days however.
Heat and humidity return by mid-week with a higher chance of storms by Thursday.
