Good Riddance

Posted: Updated:
With a soupy and unstable air mass in place the last few days, most towns picked up 1-4" of rain with occasional downpours/storms that rolled on through.  Generally, that amount of rain spread slowly over 3 days wouldn't cause problems.  The issue is, when a good chunk of the rain falls within an a couple hours, you get flash flooding, and that's what we saw for some. Here's a list of some rain totals across the area:

The pattern of the past few days is now off to our east... good riddance to that!  Lower humidity returns to the forecast today with clouds thinning out for more sunshine to return.  Highs this afternoon run in the mid to upper 70s at the coast, lower 80s inland.

High pressure builds in over the next few days, promoting low humidity and rain-free weather. With light winds, each day features sea breezes kicking in as highs range from the mid to upper 70s at the coast to lower 80s inland.

Higher humidity returns with warmer temps by mid-week next week, but there's still not much of a shower or thunderstorm threat through Wednesday.

Enjoy the nicer weather that's back and have a good weekend!
