BOSTON (WHDH) -
The Animal Rescue League of Boston has taken in more than 30 dogs that were found in poor conditions.
The dogs were being cared for at the Boston Animal Control facility in Roslindale. When ARL staffers went to check on one dog, Camilla, they found her emaciated and with several sores.
Those ARL staffers contacted Mayor Marty Walsh about the condition.
"The ARL has taken in 35 animals from the BAC facility at our shelters in Boston and Dedham. At the Mayor's request, a team of ARL veterinarians and shelter operations staff also did a comprehensive on-site assessment. We plan to provide a full report of findings to the Mayor next week,” a statement from ARL said.
Camilla has since regained some with and the other dogs are in good condition.
