MANSFIELD, Mass. (WHDH) -

A Maine man was arrested on Thursday for animal cruelty during Warped Tour at the Xfinity Center.

Officers were dispatched to the concert arena's parking lot at around 2:30 p.m. for a report of a dog locked in a vehicle. There they found a Boston Terrier and bulldog mix sitting the back seat of a vehicle with cracked windows.

The dog, later identified as Tuffy, collapsed out of the vehicle after officers opened the door and was unable to move its rear legs.

The lot is exposed to complete sun during daylight hours.

Tuffy was suffering from heat stroke and was kept overnight at Tufts Veterinary Emergency Treatment in Walpole.

Witnesses told police that the owner, identified later as Edwin Harrington Jr., 60, of Boothbay Harbor, Maine, was last seen at around 10:45 a.m. Officers were later able to arrest Harrington when he returned to the vehicle.

Bail was set at $1,000 cash.
