BOSTON (WHDH) -
FBI agents took the stand in the trial of a friend of accused marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on Thursday.
Forensic experts were talking about technology connected to Azamat Tazhayakov, saying that they found internet searches for information about the bombing on Tazhayakov's computer.
In testimony, the expert said Tazhayakov watched surveillance video from the finish line six times before Tsarnaev was officially identified. He also told the court the suspect looked up Tsarnaev on Facebook but instead of going to police, the government claims he went to Tsarnaev's dorm and took evidence.
The user was also viewing news reports throughout the night of the Watertown shootout.
The agent also said Tazhayakov googled Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's name three times in 17 seconds at one point.
Tazhayakov and another man are accused of taking a backpack filled with fireworks and a laptop from Tsarnaev's dorm room after the bombing. T
Another FBI agent testified that during questioning, Tazhayakov was leaving things out about the removal of the backpack.
If convicted of obstruction of justice, Tazhayakov could be sentenced to up to 25 years in prison.
