Warrant issued for suspect in Boylston trolley vandalism

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) - MBTA Transit Police announced that they have issued an arrest warrant for a man suspected in vandalizing the vintage trolleys on display at the Boylston Street T station.

The warrant has been issued for Daniel Nelligan, 25, of Allston for felony vandalism and trespassing in connection with a Jan. 14 incident.

The identification of Nelligan was part of a joint investigation by Boston Police and Boston University Police, which led officials to seek three separate criminal complaints against the suspect for vandalism. Police believe Nelligan vandalized locations in Allston.

The trolley cars are more than 50 years old and serve as reminder to the historic past of this first in the nation subway system.

If you know the whereabouts of Daniel Nelligan please contact the Special Crimes Unit at (617) 222-1170.
