West Nile Virus found in Mass. mosquito

CLINTON, Mass. (WHDH) -

 Health authorities are on alert after a mosquito sample from Clinton tested positive for West Nile Virus.

This is the first confirmed case so far this summer in Massachusetts

But, officials say no humans have been infected.

West Nile Virus is usually transmitted through a bite from a mosquito that is carrying the virus.

Officials say people of all ages can be affected but the virus is especially dangerous young children and the elderly.
