Man arrested in Newbury after police chase

Posted: Updated:
NEWBURY, Mass. (WHDH) - A driver who led police on a chase in New Hampshire is behind bars Wednesday morning.

Police said Nicholas Cammann, 33, of Aquinnah was behind the wheel during a motor vehicle pursuit on Interstate 95 southbound in New Hampshire on Tuesday.

Originally, N.H. State Police called off the chase because it was too dangerous.

A short time later, police said he was spotted in a construction zone in Newburyport. State troopers allegedly tried to stop him but he refused, crashing his car and trying to run away on foot.
Cammann is now charged with drunk driving, failure to stop for police and resisting arrest.

State police are still investigating Cammann's activities.
